Hone-ing Peer Review
With apologies for the exceptionally bad pun, Dave Hone of Archosaur Musings fame has just posted a nice entry on how to review a paper. He fills in some gaps in my coverage, emphasizes some different areas, and provides an all-around good introduction to the topic. Definitely worth reading!

Damn right you should apologist for that, it is awful (and indeed prediactable). Seriously, though thanks for the linkage. I honestly think they make a nice pair of articels so elt's hope they provide a bit of motivation and support both for referees and authors.
